BarkLogger

Privacy Policy

Last updated 30 July 2026

Short version: BarkLogger runs entirely on your device. We do not operate servers, collect analytics, or receive any of your data. Nothing you record is uploaded anywhere.

What we collect

Nothing. BarkLogger has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking and no third-party SDKs. The developer never receives your audio, photos, location or logs.

Data stored on your device

Audio clips, photos, videos, detected sound events with their timestamps and levels, and — if you enable it — an approximate address for each session are saved in the app's private storage on your iPhone.

They are not written to your Photos library and are not shared with anyone unless you explicitly export or share them.

Microphone

Used only while a session is running, to detect dog sounds and record clips. Audio is processed on your device by Apple's Sound Analysis framework and is never uploaded.

Location

Controlled by the “Include location in reports” switch in Settings, which you can turn off at any time.

While it is on and permission is granted, an approximate address is captured once when a session starts so reports can show where the recording took place. Location is resolved using Apple's system geocoding services and stored only with your session. With the setting off, no location is requested, stored or printed.

Camera

Used only if you turn on automatic photos, or when you take a photo or record a video by hand. Media is saved in the app's private storage and never added to your Photos library or transmitted anywhere.

Purchases

The one-time reports unlock is processed by Apple. We do not see or store your payment details. Whether you have purchased is determined by asking Apple's App Store, not by any record we keep.

Sharing

Files leave your device only when you choose to share them — exporting a PDF, sending a clip, saving a bundle. From that point the privacy policy of whichever app or service you send it to applies.

Deletion

Deleting a session removes its clips, photos and videos. Deleting the app removes everything that remains. Because nothing is transmitted, there is no server-side copy to request or erase.

Children

BarkLogger is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone.

Changes

If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted here with a new date.
