Terms of Service

Short version: BarkLogger helps you document barking. It is not certified measurement equipment and its reports are not legal evidence. Recording laws vary — make sure your use is lawful where you live.
What BarkLogger is
A consumer tool that listens for dog sounds, records short clips, and compiles logs and reports. It is not professional monitoring equipment, a certified sound level meter, or a legal service.
No guarantee of accuracy
Sound identification uses Apple's on-device classifier and is inherently imperfect. It may miss barking, and it may identify other sounds as barking.
Decibel figures are relative loudness readings from a phone microphone, not calibrated dB SPL measurements — including after using the calibration feature. Do not rely on BarkLogger where accuracy is critical.
Reports are not legal evidence
Reports produced by this app are unverified, automatically generated records. Whether any authority, landlord, HOA, court or agency accepts them is outside our control and varies by jurisdiction.
Nothing in this app or on this site is legal advice. Consult a qualified lawyer about your situation before relying on these reports in any dispute or proceeding.
Your responsibility for recording
Audio and video recording laws differ substantially between countries, states and localities, and some require the consent of recorded parties.
You are solely responsible for ensuring your use of BarkLogger is lawful where you are, including how you position the device and whether you capture other people's conversations. Do not use this app to harass, surveil or intimidate anyone.
Purchases
The reports unlock is a one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase processed by Apple. Refunds are handled by Apple under their standard terms. You can restore a previous purchase at any time from Settings.
No warranty
BarkLogger is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that it will run uninterrupted, capture every event, or be error-free. iOS may suspend or terminate background apps at any time, and recordings may be lost.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for lost recordings, missed events, failed complaints, or adverse outcomes of any dispute arising from use of this app.
Your data
You own your recordings, photos, videos and logs. They are stored on your device. Deleting a session deletes its files; uninstalling the app deletes everything.
Changes
These terms may be updated in future versions. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
